Circle continues to sell its business, shifting its focus to stablecoin development.
Recently, there have been reports that Circle is considering selling its crowdfunding business SeedInvest after continuously selling multiple business zones. According to industry insiders, this transaction may face difficulties in finding buyers. The main reason is that the initial acquisition structure of SeedInvest has many issues, making it difficult to transfer smoothly at present.
Just a day before this news broke, Circle announced the sale of its retail trading platform Circle Invest to a Canadian cryptocurrency brokerage. According to the transaction arrangement, about 40,000 Circle Invest users will complete their migration to the new platform by the end of March. At the same time, Circle's new stablecoin platform service functions will also be integrated into the buyer's system.
Looking back to mid-December last year, Circle announced through official channels the sale of its over-the-counter trading business Circle Trade OTC to a certain trading platform. At that time, Circle stated that the company's strategic focus for 2020 would be on the development of stablecoin business.
